Aquatic – Sales Process and NAV Integration

Aquatic are a leading independent operator of carousels, full powered reel, tensioner and personnel solutions for the global oil and gas, telecommunications and energy industries.

The problem

Aquatic needed to streamline their sales process and wanted to move from an independent Dynamics NAV system and excel spreadsheets to a combined NAV-Dynamics CRM system.

What we did

After analysing the current sales process at Aquatic, we designed and developed an improved system in Dynamics CRM. This system incorporated quotes, orders, product/equipment records among other Aquatic-specific customisations such as Dimension Values and Tool Rental Activities. Included in the solution were two real-time maps showing where opportunities were being raised across the world and where equipment was currently located (by country).

Once the CRM system had been configured within the environment we set-up the connection to Aquatic’s NAV system using the Dynamics Connector, pulling across their most up-to-date data.

We completed the initial integration which consisted of the majority of the records, after which we integrated the sales process records (quotes, orders etc). These sales process records were a bit more difficult to integrate as they required bi-directional transfer of data between the two systems.

Once the NAV integration was complete we completed some further configuration of the CRM system in terms of dashboards and reports.

The solution provided a wealth of benefits to Aquatic including; improved performance of the sales team by having a simpler interface to interact with the underlying database, reports at their fingertips that use real-time data providing an overview of the business and reduced processing costs.
