The Client

Uni:Trix was set up by two university friends who studied for a Masters degree together. The aim was to make student life that little bit easier and create a student community.

The Problem

Uni:Trix were looking to start up a technology based application company. Initially, they engaged with another developer at a low price although upon delivery of sub-standard work they approached Intellicore. The driving force here was to create an app, that didn’t otherwise exist, on which students could initially buy and sell goods, before expanding into offering other services.

What We Did

Intellicore sat down with the two business partners and captured their requirements – both immediate and future. From there, we were able to plan out an approach, design and then develop it. The application allows users to connect with local independent businesses, other users and has a marketplace incorporated. One of the features that we love at Intellicore is the voucher aspect. The application has on it deals for students ranging from cheap meals to gig tickets. The user purchases the deal through the application and the voucher sits in a wallet within the app. The user can then choose to activate that voucher whenever they wish, although most vouchers have a time limit. The application shows the time left to use the voucher prior to expiry. Once activated, the voucher has a code that is redeemed by the cashier. The future dream, which Intellicore are working on, for the app is to incorporate a smart seating system that will help users to find free study space on campus at the touch of a button.
