Website for Fennel Restaurant, Inverurie

The client

Fennel Restaurant in Inverurie is a top quality restaurant and bar, offering a select menu of both food and cocktails; great for a casual lunch, a special meal, or a night out with friends.

The Problem

The design of the original Fennel website was very dated and unattractive and did not reflect the restaurant's top quality. The back-end portal was limited in functionality and did not allow the client to use the site to its full potential as a marketing & commercial tool.

Why was the project necessary?

The client wanted to launch a new initiative within the business and realised that in order to market it successfully they needed to improve their business image online as well as having a website that would support the new functionalities required.

What we did

We initially did some research to find a CMS (Content Management System) platform that would suit the client's needs and would be extremely user-friendly. We then designed and developed the site in such a way that the client would have full control over the content once the site was handed over. This included text, imagery & photo galleries, food menus, downloadable booking forms, news feed, events calendar, YouTube videos, etc. The site also includes other functionalities such as purchasable gift vouchers, light-box image viewer, various live Social Network feeds, embedded TripAdvisor ratings, contact forms, etc.

The attractive design was created to make the most of the small amount of text content, by keeping the page sizes to a minimum and taking advantage of the enticing imagery provided. This design really fits the top-notch look and feel that the restaurant deserves, communicating the sense of quality and exclusiveness of Fennel. To finish off we provided a 1 on 1 training session, to ensure the client would have the knowledge to use the site to its full potential.

Websites are usually where customers gather their first impression, and only now does the Fennel website truly reflect the business, enticing the viewer with its classy design and delicious imagery, it invites them to come and experience the restaurant for themselves. The new functionalities will allow the client to maintain the website up to date easily, and to make the most of their new business venture, Fennel@Home, which would have been almost impossible without an online presence. Customers will be able to find out all they need to know about the restaurant from location info and opening hours, to their upcoming events and client reviews, as well as being able to view the menu beforehand, and even make bookings and pre-order their meals through the site.
