Intellicore Receives Massive Thanks from Garioch Amateur Swimming Club

Garioch Amateur Swimming Club can brag an impressive sponsor. It’s where Olympic medal winner Hannah Miley got her start. Miley has swum in the Beijing 2008 Olympics, London 2012 Olympics, and Rio 2016, too. In her career she has won 23 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 13 bronze medals. These were won at Common Wealth, National and World Championship levels. It is safe to say that she’s an incredible athlete, and it was memorabilia from the 2012 games signed by Hanna Miley herself that played a big part in Intellicore’s thank you present.

In the last few months we have had the chance to develop a number of videos to promote our services. Having filmed all the shots in the office with our own staff members, we are more than pleased with the results!

Our very own Jiri Vaigl is a bit of a ‘Jack-of-all-trades’ combining web development skills, motion graphic skills, a great eye for detail (making him an excellent tester), and generally being pretty good at anything he sets his mind to!

Design Running in the Family for Amy

With design running in the family, it was no surprise for Amy Bernabeu McKay to end up working as a graphic designer. Now, Intellicore's latest recruit, has found her vocation, after years of studying and working in a few different roles.

Just like Amy, her father is a graphic designer. He runs his own design company in Madrid in Spain, which is where Amy grew up. She left Spain in 2009 to study for a Masters Degree in Design at Plymouth University and after graduating moved north to her mother's native town of Stonehaven, where she started to look for a job. Amy started with us last November as a Graphic Designer and is enjoying applying her studies to the world of business, where she spends most of her time designing graphics for software packages, websites, CRM systems and mobile applications.

Intellicore Finds IT Whizz Kid at Mock Interview

When IT Company Director Barry Booth offered to do a favour for a business contact, little did he know it would result in him finding a self-taught IT whizz kid and a new employee.

Barry, the MD of Aberdeen-based Intellicore, offered to help out at Exceler8, an employability training course, run by Enterprise North East Trust. He agreed to take part in a role play interview for a delegate who had an interest in web development, to offer him some valuable interview experience by playing the part of a prospective employer.

It was in doing this that he met 19-year-old Sean Duthie from Fraserburgh, who had been referred to the course by his local Job Centre. He'd been unemployed for a year since leaving Banff and Buchan College with an HNC in IT. Previously, he'd left Fraserburgh Academy with few qualifications.
