Intellicore sponsors Rothie Rover’s latest ground development.

The newest development to the team’s ground was the installation of a new stand.

Bespoke software developers, Intellicore, has provided substantial sponsorship along with a significant Windfarm Grant from Foundation Scotland Gordonstown, enabling Rothie Rovers Football Club to undergo drastic ground improvements.  The newest development to the team’s ground was the installation of a stand which arrived on the 17thMarch 2023. Harper UK of Colpy fabricated the project to the highest of standards with Colin Lawson Transport delivering and installing the stand to the grounds. The stand looks fantastic and was delivered just in time for the north regional semi-final where Rothie Rovers welcomed super league side Montrose Roselea JFC.

Intellicore’s CEO, Barry Booth, has been a fan of the local football club for years and is friends with many of the team.  He was keen to give back to the club based in Rothienorman, close to his hometown of Insch and in 2021/ early 2022 Barry was able to offer financial support to build new stands as part of their ground development project that originally started in 2020. Prior to the stand installation, the club had undergone further ground development including perimeter fencing, a new combined dugout suitable for two teams and ground works to allow for the additional space in areas of the pitch. There are further plans to improve the facility over the next few years.

Rothie Rovers were formed back in 1983 playing in the Aberdeenshire Amateur Football Association. In 2020, the amateur football club progressed to the Scottish Junior Football Association. Although the first season was interrupted due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Rothie Rovers won the Division 2 title in 2021/22 season. Club Chairman, Brian Cormack, now in his 23rd year as club chairman, has overseen the initial ground improvement works that began in 2006 and continues to push the club forward in support of a strong community.

Brian Cormack has stated:

“We are so very grateful to Barry as without his support this project would be years away.  We have developed a close relationship since, and I look forward towel coming Barry to our opening day along with future events.  The stands themselves are beyond what we could have envisaged when we discussed the project a number of years ago, big thanks to David and his team at Harper UK.  We are relatively new to the semi-professional football scene; however, we are very ambitious and want to ensure we give the management team every chance to attract players by continually developing and improving the ground.  We are also working with other associations to host Cup Finals.  We already have agreed to host a Senior Schoolboys Final at the end of March and there will be a Girls Final after The Easter Holidays – of course we are delighted to host and give as many people the opportunity to play at the pitch as possible “.

Furthermore, Rothie Rover’s Manager, Kevin Beaton added:

“The new stands look absolutely fantastic, even better than we could have imagined.  They represent a significant milestone in the clubs’ plans off the pitch and we are very grateful for everyone who has contributed to make this possible.  From a football perspective it allows us to demonstrate to our current players, and potential signings, just how much we want the club to grow and shows how attractive playing football at Rothienorman is”.
